I turn 50 this month. The first photos of me are on the hood of a U-Model Mack hanging on to the bulldog. I’ve been doing this a day or two.
The one thing that seemed to remain ever-present here in Connecticut was a”tiny” LTL consolidation carrier named Baileys Express. But “tiny” is not reflective in the volumes they handle. I mean they treat their clients like friends and family.
Baileys perfected the consolidation business and handles thousands of shipments for some very big named shippers. We are clients of Baileys. We’ve become close to their staff. We’re fans of the model.
Baileys stopped operating on Monday. While they hope, pray perhaps, for the moon and stars to properly align so they could continue. Its become apparent that the angel(s) they need may not exist.
I, for one, will miss their presence, their competitive practices and the small, family, friendly way they conducted themselves.
